from the Women's Well

The Women's Well welcomes your help.

Circle of Circles

The Circle of Circles is open to all women. Upcoming dates are June 2, and August 4. There is no circle in July.

Vision Quest

I participated last October in the Women's VisionQuest guided by Anna Coffman (from the Third Circle), and Cary Gaunt.  I can only tell you that this was one of the most powerful experiencs of my lifetime. Anna and Cary, both very well trained in this work, made it safe, deep and sacred. It felt like a beautiful outgrowth and deepening of the kind of things that The Women's Well has always been about. I recommend it highly.

Mystery School

Participants in the Women’s Mystery School connect with the deep mysteries and power of the Sacred Feminine through myth, art, astrology, traditional Chinese medicine practices, shamanism and ritual. In the context of a sacred circle, they engage in personal transformation, remember their deep connection with Spirit and with all of life, and move into new ways of being in this time of global change. The program meets for five weekends across the year from September 2008 to June 2009. For more information or to find out about free introductory evenings, call Heather Ensworth 978 468-2021 or Gail Byrnes 978 302-6654 or check the website.

FYI

Max Dashu's new DVD, Women's Power in Global Perspective, is a stunning visual history of the range of female leadership, wisdom, courage and creativity over thousands of years. Find it at her website.

Tsultrim Allione’s new book, Feeding Your Demons, brings an eleventh-century Tibetan woman's practice to the West for the first time, in an accessible and effective approach for dealing with negative emotions, fears, illness, and self-defeating patterns. Allione explains that if we fight our demons, they only grow stronger. But if we feed them, nurture them, we can free ourselves from the battle.

The latest creative effort by Patricia Reis is Arctic Refuge Sutra: Teachings from an Endangered Landscape. This DVD, a haunting multimedia account of one of Earth's ecologically priceless wildlands, is available at www.patriciareis.net

Prajña Hallstrom has just released a new live chanting CD, Jai Ma! It is a collection of eight chants devoted to the various forms of the sacred feminine in the Hindu and Buddhist traditions, and is intended as an offering to the Goddess in all her forms. For more info and to order, check out Prajña's website, www.shaktimata.com, which also lists chanting events that Prajña is leading around the area.

Edith Griffin’s wholistic center in Westford has space available to rent. See www.karendyth.com for more information or call 978 692-9109. The space is beautiful, and the location is great for one-on-one therapy or group sessions. Please pass the word along.

Stephanie Bennett Vogt’s Your Spacious Self: Clear Your Clutter and Discover Who You Are departs from the more conventional (linear, "fixing," masculine) approaches to clearing and offers a guided "journey" approach that invites readers to soften resistance by feeling (exploring, discovering, allowing) their holding patterns. For more info on Stephanie's work, see www.spaceclear.com.

Look for Olivia Hoblitzelle’s new book The Majesty of Your Loving: A Couple's Journey Through Alzheimer's. It's a memoir inspired by her training in Buddhism, psychology, and negotiating life.

Marga Dieter’s novel Aamie’s War is a powerful autobiographical story of the physical and emotional devastation of war as viewed through the eyes of a little girl growing up in World War II Germany.  For more info see www.aamieswar.com.
